Imagine being told you have to wear a set of clothes that had been fitted for someone else. They may be a similar height or weight as you. They may be a similar age or have a similar background. The clothes may ‘almost’ fit correctly. But you cannot help thinking that something isn’t right. When it comes to clothes, one size simply does not fit all. The same is true when seeking services and supports to assist you as part of your daily life.
All too often a large majority of society are grouped together as ‘people with a disability.’ As a result, people may feel judged or labelled according to their diagnosis or what they may find challenging in life. This can make it difficult for individuals to find and sustain the meaningful, consistent supports they require. The days of ‘it will be ok’ are gone.
Here at Pennine Community Supports (PCS) we make it our mission to see every individual as just that – an individual. Our passion is seeing individuals set, develop, and reach their personal goals. We aim to champion the strengths of each individual and find creative ways to support them as they work towards their goals.
We respect each person has their own beliefs, cultural background, preferences, and life experiences, so rather than try to fit you into a set mould of what community supports are, we work to understand what you need and what fits best with how you want to live your life.
Our team has experience in a range of different health care settings ensuring all services will meet your individual needs. Our collective expertise enables us to work with anyone who may have a physical, cognitive, or psychosocial disability.
